Cross-country grass root championship kick off this weekend!

The cross-country grass root championship kick off this weekend with the 47 Counties in the country and one Athletics Kenya affiliate picking teams for the next level.

The annual cross-country rivalry will warm up athletes for the regional championship at the end of the month with the climax coming up on February 14th at the Uhuru Gardens with the IAAF Permit Athletics Kenya and Kenya Commercial Bank national championship.


The Kenya Defense Forces back-breaking National Championship on Saturday 17th will give signals to other Athletics Kenya affiliates to pick the best squad ahead of the herculean national selection at the capital.


Kenya Prisons Service and Kenya National Police Cross-country championships will take place next weekend January 24th at Uhuru Gardens and Ngong Race Course respectively while all the remaining regional affiliates are expected to have their championships on January 31st.


The Kenya Universities are also picking selection their representatives during their nationals due at Kabianga University, Kericho, on 31st.


The IAAF Permit Meet-cum national trials will culminate with the selection of the cross-country national team that would be representing the country at the 41st International Association of Athletics Federations World Cross-country Championship in Guiyang, China, on March 26th.
