BONDO HOST ATHLETES

Preparations for the first Athletics Kenya Track and Field Weekend Meeting have been finalized by Nyanza North Region.

 

The opener, programmed to take place on Friday and Saturday this week, will be held at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology in Bondo this Friday and Saturday.

 

The event will jump-start the track and field season that will reach the apex on July 21st and 22nd where the trials for the World Athletics Championships in London will be held.

 

Athletics Kenya will run six Track and Field Weekend Meetings across the country where both the elite and upcoming runners will be chasing qualifications mark as well as gauging their speed in their individual specialties.

 

Bondo University will host the opener and will be organized by Nyanza North Athletics Kenya sub-branch and will be followed closely by Mumias Complex in Western Region on April 14th and 15th

 

We are starting our Track and Field competitions this week in Bondo and we are urging the athletes to use these Meetings to prepare for the World Championships as we have been doing before. We are asking all the senior athletes hoping to represent the country to honour the build-up series,” appealed Paul Mutwii, AK Senior Vice President and Director of Competitions.

 

Thika Municipal Stadium in Central Region will organize the 3rd Meeting on April 28th and 29th while Afraha Stadium in Nakuru in the South Rift will play host to the 4th leg on May 5th and 6th.

 

The series will end with the 6th assemblage in Eldoret on May 19th and 20th at Kipchoge Stadium after Gusii Stadium on May 12th and 13th where the 5th round will take place.
