FROM HON. TREASURER Athletics Kenya programme of activities in 2008 is quite heavy in terms of financing. It will definitely cost well over the usual yearly figure of Ksh. 80 million. Besides our local programmes, this is the year of the World Cross Country in Edinburgh, the African Senior championships in Addis-Ababa Ethiopia, the World Junior Championships in Bydgoszcz, the Beijing Olympics in China, etcetera We are however not scared of the heavy undertakings given the never-failing sponsorship support of IAAF, NIKE, New KCC, KCB, Standard Chartered Bank and East African Breweries Nock and Ministry of Youth Affairs for which we are very grateful. We manage the funds availed to us prudently; besides, our affiliates and athletes do not exert unnecessarily undue pressure on us in terms of financing. We therefore hope to have yet another very successful year.
